Carbon Conductive Ink
Carboninks were commonly made from lampblack or soot and a binding agent such as gumarabic or animal glue. The binding agent keeps carbon particles in suspensionand adhered to paper. Carbon particles do not fade over time even when bleachedor when in sunlight. One benefit is that carbon ink does not harm paper. Overtime, the ink is chemically stable and therefore does not threaten the paper'sstrength. Despite these benefits, carbon ink is not ideal for permanence andease of preservation.
